Pricing & Cost Guide
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Boat?
Every boat is quoted individually because the price depends on a handful of things you can measure. Here's what moves the number and what you can do to bring it down.
What Affects Boat Transport Cost
Every move has its own variables. Understanding these factors will help you get an accurate estimate from the start.
Distance and route
Longer moves cost more in total but usually less per mile. Common routes are easier to fill than remote ones.
Length, beam and height
Over 8'6" wide needs permits; wider loads may need escorts. Tall boats may need route changes or have parts removed.
Trailer or no trailer
A boat on a road-ready trailer can sometimes be towed. Otherwise the carrier provides a boat trailer.
Boat type
Sailboats need keel support and mast handling; yachts need hydraulic trailers.
Pickup and delivery access
Tight driveways, marinas with launch fees, or a boat that has to be hauled from the water add cost or time.
Season
Spring launch and fall snowbird season are the busiest. Off-peak moves are easier to book and often cheaper.
Date flexibility
A wider pickup window lets us place your boat with a carrier already running that lane.
